Where there half a million children that died in Iraq as a result of sanctions? More then likely this was pure Saddam propaganda. But even if this occurred during this same period Saddam was spending billions to build up his weapons and army. So if there were any deaths it was a direct result of Saddam’s priorities not the sanctions.
The point of the piece is that Democrats conveniently forget that they also believed Saddam had WMD’s.
Heck, Al Gore slammed Bush I for not finishing Sodam off. By the way, that 1/2 million figure was bogus. No one ever came up with any real numbers to back it. The total killed during the war afterwards was only about 120,000!!
