“we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”

No one in the press corps bothered to ask him what he meant by that.

Hmmm – what circumstance would possibly require such a vehicle in “police operations”?

This sh*t is getting downright scary

Going to the CO statehouse today to oppose the Dem’s gun-grab legislation.

  2. gator69 says:

This will make it easier for Skeeter to bring on that third reich, er, I mean term.

  3. DP says:

The next logical step for a dictator is to create a home-grown security threat to scare the masses into granting unprecedented powers for their protection.

  4. Ed Caryl says:

New meaning to the term “urban assault vehicle.”
What is the carbon footprint? To build it and to operate it?

  5. NikFromNYC says:

“Emily is six, and her dad wants her to be independent. The local law, not so much. When he let her cross the street on her own, a cop picked her up and detained her and her dad for half an hour, before admitting that it wasn’t illegal to let a six year old cross the street. But things really kicked off when dad let Emily go to the store, a few blocks away. The cops detained her, and when her dad went to pick her up, the law wouldn’t let him, calling Child Protective Services instead and only relenting when CPS told them they were too busy to intervene — though they did follow up with a threatening letter to Emily’s dad.”

The social libertarian hipster crowd is on the case:

“8 Major Retailers Planning Multiple Store Closings in 2013″

    1. Best Buy – plans to close 200-250 of its 1,056 U.S. stores. Biggest problem? “showrooming” customers. People shop for product ideas in the store, then buy online.
    2. Sears Holding Corp – plans to close 100-125 of its Sears stores plus 175-225 Kmart locations. Biggest problem? Still losing market share to Walmart and Target.
    3. J.C. Penney – plans to shutter some 300 of itss 1,100 U.S. locations. Biggest problem? Trying to lean away from a history of being cheap, the store advertised consistent low prices all the time. It hasn’t worked.
    4. Office Depot – plans to shut down 125-150 of its 1,114 U.S. stores. Biggest problem? Sluggish economy has hurt the businesses that use them. Add to that the growth of online competitors such as Amazon.
    5. Barnes & Noble – cutting 190-240 stores out of 689. Biggest problem? E-books have carved into their business despite efforts to head that off by pushing Nook e-book reading devices.
    6. Gamestop – 500-600 stores out of 4,471 U.S. locations slated to close. During the 2012 holiday the company announced 200 closings. It has now more than doubled number. Biggest problem? The explosion of mobile gaming devices such as Nintendo DS and others caused a big drop in console game platforms.
    7. Office Max – 150-175 stores out of 872 will close. Biggest problem? Like Staples and Office Depot, the clients are struggling. It is also facing online competition.
    8. Radio Shack – 450-550 stores out of 4,412 slated to close. Biggest problem? Company was unable to renew its deal with Target to continue to operate kiosks in some 1,500 Target stores across the country. This had helped them generate significant business while they re-branded over the last couple of years. We’ve seen the barrage of ads on TV.”

It will get worse once Obamacare fully kicks in. A lot less money to spend on things.

      • I can’t afford health insurance, and won’t beg the state for Medicaid to pay for it. Obamacare has, and will, only make more intrusive regulations, and I wonder how many there are like me who won’t allow such casual and careless intrusion. The country is stupid to obey the new law, but those with the money to do so will just do it and complain.

    • NikFromNYC says:

Blame progress, not progressivism, in the form of Amazon.com free shipping on a billion customer-reviewed products that renders these companies obsolete. The amount of cardboard I now have to recycle is astounding, gleefully so, since between my iPhone 5 upgrade that represents the first truly responsive pocket computer and Amazon.com, the future has arrived and running a small business is much easier.

      • gator69 says:

Walmart’s sales are down so much they are having restocking issues. Dollar Stores are also seeing a decrease in sales. The middle class is now receiving the smallest share of income in history.

        Keep your fantasies to yourself.

      • gator69 says:

Also of note, freight shipping is falling and approaching historic lows. How does Amazon change that?

  7. Kaboom says:

In the book of the founding fathers who crafted the second amendment, this warrants the free availability of anti-armor weaponry for the citizens. Government owned drones operating over US territory add anti-aircraft missiles.

  8. Brian G Valentine says:

Ross Perot once remarked that Bill Clinton “might” be mid level management material – with training.

If Barry wasn’t elected to office he would be just another leftist law professor. Management training probably wouldn’t be all that great of an investment.

  9. tckev says:

That’s the new sales vehicle for the Progressive Protection the government is going to give you. So be ready for when the sales team arrives in your neighborhood.
Yep! Folks wont know what’s hit them!

    Now it is happening…

“In 2010 Spanish banks foreclosed on more than 100,000 households. Macarena, the district of Seville in which Corrala Utopía stands, now has the highest eviction-rate in the city. Yet in Seville’s greater metropolitan area alone an estimated 130,000 unsellable, unrentable homes are lying empty.

Toñi Rodriguez, 44, left her home voluntarily last year. “I was unable to pay my rent and was being taken to court. I didn’t want to build up any more debt. I was living on the street, sleeping in my car. Back then the people from 15-M [the grassroots community activist group that rose to international prominence during the 2011 Indignados protests] were holding public assemblies in a square every day. A friend said that they might be able to help me,” she explains.

Together they came up with a simple solution. “We began to talk about the possibility of taking over vacant buildings,” she says. “We spent four months planning before we did anything and I was very afraid of what might happen to us. I didn’t know whether we would be allowed to stay or if we would be arrested.”

Skeeter wants to model our ‘green’ economy after Spain’s.
