1974 : Plan To Melt The Arctic Ice Cap “already begun”
a Russian project, already begun, to dam certain rivers emptying into the Arctic Ocean, in order to irrigate Siberian farmlands. A possible result would be to raise the salinity of the Arctic Ocean and melt the ice cap. Science Magazine Ice Age
