OTOH, he’s clear about his belief that we could be entering a period like the Maunder minimum, in connection with the L&P effect- the Maunder period is the only one he calls grand minimum in recent centuries, while the Dalton period was just a “normal low” period.

Dr Evans does use L.S. reconstruction data and shows it in the top of the post yet L.S. continually bashes Dr. Evans for not doing so getting a bit nasty with thinly veiled accusisations…. weirder than snake shoes.

Especially an engineer should know that this is a question of error bars and measurement precision, not about ‘knowing’ anything [Emphasis mine].
How could I have missed this choice comment? It says it all. It is not about ‘knowing’ anything. Finally an honest statement from the man. He doesn’t know anything but thinks that doesn’t matter.
Because of his lack of knowing and abundance of *believing*, he gets to assert anything and the rest of us are supposed to genuflect in front his superior mystical insight into the hidden workings of the universe. The actual link is between cooling temperatures and revolutions. Famine has a nasty habit of doing that. Think French Revolution.
