In 1975, the National Academy of Sciences published the Northern Hemisphere temperature graph below, which showed cooling from 1940 to 1970 back to 1910 levels.
By 1982, scientists had already eliminated much of the 1940 to 1970 Northern Hemisphere cooling
And then Hansen got a hold of it, completely changed the shape of the Northern Hemisphere plot, and almost completely eliminated the 1940 to 1970 global cooling period.
The animation below cycles through the progressive stages which government scientists have tampered with history in order to match their CO2 theory, normalized to 1920-1940
And of course there is the elimination of Briffa’s trees from the hockey stick, which showed the same decline that Hansen has erased.
Fortunately, there were quite a few real scientists from the 1970s who documented the global cooling which later Orwellian crooks tried to erase.
Every major climate organization endorsed the ice age scare, including NCAR, CRU, NAS, NASA – as did the CIA.

Climate Change and its Effect on World Food

In February of 1972 earth-orbiting artificial satellites revealed the existence of a greatly increased area of the snow and ice cover of the north polar cap as compared to all previous years of space age observations. Some scientists believe that this may have presaged the onset of the dramatic climate anomalies of 1972 that brought far-reaching adversities to the world’s peoples. Moreover, there is mounting evidence that the bad climate of 1972 may be the forerunner of a long series of less favorable agricultural crop years that lie ahead for most world societies. Thus widespread food shortages threaten just at the same time that world populations are growing to new highs. Indeed, less favorable climate may be the new global norm. The Earth may have entered a new “little ice age”
There are strong signs that these recent climate disasters were not random deviations from the usual weather, but instead signals of the emergence of a new normal for world climates.
If we are, indeed, experiencing a worsening of world climates it is, perhaps, equal in severity to any within the last millenium. The arguments for this view were developed by several of the climatologists who attended an international workshop on climate and its effects on human life convened in May 1974 in Bonn, Germany.
At this meeting Profs. H. Flohn of Germany, H.H. Lamb of the United Kingdom and Reid Bryson of the United States developed a highly persuasive demonstration that there has been a steady cooling of northern hemisphere temperatures during the last 30 years, with the strongest cooling at the higher latitudes.

The Ice Age Cometh than the Feds disappear it as though it never happened. Good thing the records still exist that show what liars are in our government.
Yes, one thing we can learn from the past is that the great “canary in the coal mine” of the alarmists, the Arctic, is doing now exactly the same as in the past, not what they predicted. With modulations and different amplitudes, but in essence what is happening now is very similar to the past.
Back then we didn’t have enough information to connect the dots relative to ocean oscillations, atmospheric circulation and, mainly, the importance of the Sun. Another aspect that surfaces from these old documents is that the Arctic seems to be highly sensitive to solar radiations, probably more than the Antarctic, due to the greater presence of continental land mass around it.
The oscillations happened then as they’re happening now, but the *big difference* is that we’re entering a solar grand minimum of at least a Dalton-type level (very probably a Maunder-type) and this has no comparison with any period of the XX century or even the XIX century back to 200 years ago, at least.
We must learn with the past to not repeat the mistakes and to prepare for the changes that are already starting.
No scare is necessary, just plain logical preparation for a natural change, that happened before and is happening again.
