   I have an old textbook (published in the Seventies) that predicted an incepent ice age by the year 2000. Most of the scientists claimed it was climate cycle, but even back in the Sixties a few were claiming that human-produced smoke was preventing sunlight from warming Earth. One of them was Carl Sagan, creator of Nuclear Winter.
